Matt Birk's HIKE Foundation Launches in Baltimore with Mother's event

Matt Birk's HIKE Foundation kicked off their move to Baltimore with an event at Mother's Federal Hill Grille on October 5, 2009. Guests joined Matt for dinner, drinks and Monday Night Football. Birk provided his insight on the Monday Night Football game as his former team, the Minnesota Vikings, took on the Green Bay Packers. The event also included autographs, giveaways, and a silent auction to benefit at-risk youth from Baltimore City Public Schools.
A highlight of the night was a pizza contest sponsored by Charmed Magazine. Guests had the opportunity to create their own pizza "fit for Matt Birk". Three recipes were selected and judged by Birk that evening. The winning recipe gained a spot on the menu for the rest of the Ravens' season. Portions of the pizza sales were donated to the HIKE Foundation.
All in all, the event was a great success for the HIKE Foundation's launch in Baltimore. More exciting events and programs will be taking place in Baltimore in the near future, so stay tuned!
